Clothes closeup week 1, 19 days until Christmas

I love clothes and dressing up. I have a closet full of beautiful clothes, but unfortunately a barely wear them. I always seem to choose the save option, something basic and something to blend into the mass with. This seems very strange to me, because it are the days I choose to wear something I like and is a bit more daring I feel much more confident in them, than when I wear something basic. It’s because of this I decided to make a clothing type video a weekly thing in December. It would slightly force me to wear all the clothes I have in my closet than just a one or two outfits.
I wanted to show you the clothes I’ve been wearing this week in closeups, I always love the details and find the pictures taken very up-close the most interesting to watch.

Life is too short to not have fun with your clothes

If you read some of my previous posts you would know that I’ve started to experiment with clothes or at least try to. I started to wear clothes or accessories that I would really like to wear, but they were out of my comfort zone and for a long time I was just scared to wear them, but the last month or so I made myself to do it and try not to think about it.

Because September will bring me a new year (life) with a new start. And because a new life will start for me, I would like to finally stop wearing my go to clothes (the ones that are saved and have no personality) and start creating my own style and try not to be as ashamed of myself. Only where do you start? Well, for me, I think I would start with collecting pictures with styles and clothes that inspire me and which I very much like. This wasn’t that hard at all, because I collect pictures for a couple a years now, which left me with hundreds of them. I did this because it used to help me fantasize about the person I would like to be most, I basically lived in my fantasy for years and now is a good time to get ad start my own real life. My blog is a place where I share bits and bobs of my life and I think this journey is definitely something I want to share here on my blog as well, so this is where it starts.

I do not remember where I got the pictures from anymore, I think this is bad, but I can’t do anything about it. They were just so many and I didn’t write where they have come from, but I wanted to make sure you know I didn’t make any of them they just inspire me and make me happy.

Dresses

Something there is about dresses, they can be worn in many different ways and are perfect for summer days, except when it’s very windy and your skirt wants to expose everything. These three dresses I once found on Pinterest and it was love at first sight.

Necklaces

Lately I feel a little bare on my chest and have the feeling something is missing. That something is a necklace. Of course, there had to be something triangle in here and that’s the last necklace, I love it. Another thing I really liked and I recently found out about is the necklace on the back like wearing by Cara Delevingne on this picture, I think, is a fun way of accessories your back when you wear something that exposes it. A necklace is something that finishes up a look I think.

Hats

I always had a thing about hats, I used to wear them a lot, but lately it’s a bit more difficult because I always have the feeling it’s such a big statement and probably I’m exaggerating a bit. I would love to have the confidence of wearing a hat again. The hat I’m most graving for at this moment is a big floppy hat and that probably shows in the pictures that I have here on display.

Cropped

Cropped tops have been something I already started to wear a lot these days, but some extra inspiration on how to wear them or the diversion of them and I couldn’t let them out of this post. I can’t help it, but I just love them so much.

Shoes

In one of my latest posts I told you about my lack of diversion in shoes and lack of sandals. Even on the search on them, I could only find two styles (but they really the same kind of style really) I liked, but I thought I share them with you anyway.

No shoes to wear!

Just to make clear! I do not walk around on my bare feet all day. My problem contains more in the variety of shoes, which is barely any. Just my all-stars and boots. And when I wear a cute dress I do not want to have to pair them with either my all-stars or boots, don’t understand me wrong, I do love my all-starts and boots, but sometimes when it’s hot my feet would like to breath. I would like to have some sandals for summer and some more variety in shoes in general.

The fact that I do not have that may different shoes is holding me back from wearing some clothes I would like to wear, but simply not have shoes that would suit with these outfits. The reason this became a struggle was first that I’m planning to start wearing the clothes I like and therefore get a bit more out of my comfort zone and second I wanted to start doing outfit of the days, because it seems fun to do and perhaps gives me even more fun with my clothes. But whilst I was preparing this I got constantly stuck on shoes.

Of course I won’t give up on this, because I want to do or at least try to do outfit of the days. I will try to find a different way of doing these kind of post, to get me started while I’m looking for shoes. Even though finding shoes won’t be easy, my feet have trouble with finding shoes that fit. They are long and thin and so are my toes and therefore shoes are often too wide for me, especially the shoes from H&M (I never found a shoe that fits in there).

Do any of you find the same struggle when you are looking for outfits to wear or is it just me?

Searching for a summer jacket

1. Striped shirt, The Sting, € 15, -: I do not own that many staples where I can build my outfit on, so I thought it would be good to make a start of staples in my closet. And why not start with a striped shirt. I like the cut of this one in particular, It is a bit shorter than a normal shirt and I think it is flattering my body.

2. Basic black crop top, Zara, € 9,95: I saw this top hanging on the racks from Zara and thought it would be looking great with the skirt I bought earlier and because it is a pretty basic top I probably can find other things to wear it with as well. So I decided to buy it. Another thing I liked of this shirt is the fact that has a lower back.

3. Croptop/bralet, The Sting, € 15, -: I own a numerous see-through shirt's and nothing to wear underneath them, besides bras. And this would be perfect for that and of course it would be cute on its own and a skirt.

4. Top, Only, € 9,95: It’s light and therefore perfect for summer days and with that came that it was on sale!!

5. T-shirt, The Sting, € 19,95: I love the print of this shirt and that is what drawn me to it. It also helped I saw something similar in a magazine with a corset over it and I loved the look of it. It’s a bit quirky, but I don’t mind, I like quirky. So now the only thing left for me to do is find a corset.

6. Top, Stardust, € 18, -: My favourite store of whole Groningen and of course I couldn’t leave without buying something. This top is something from the years I do not remember. It’s one that you tie both in your neck as in the back, very simple and it think it would look cute with a white/red skirt.

7. Skirt, Stardust, € 12, -: I found this pencil skirt for only € 12, - and after I tried it on and it fitted I couldn’t leave it there. This skirt is where I talked about when telling about the basic black crop top from Zara, which would be perfect for the somewhat colder days of summer and can be worn during the autumn and winter months as well.

8. Summer jacket, The Sting, € 49,95: I didn’t own a jacket for summer and so I was forced to wear my winter jacket when it was a bit too cold to go without a jacket. So in need of my jacket I went to go shopping and this is what I found.

9. Shorts, Only, € 16,95: The sales technique of the saleswoman was great and she made me leave with matching shorts, not that I mind because there will be hot days I would love to wear some comfortable shorts. I do not plan on wearing the matching shirt and shorts together, it’s not really my cup of tea. But separately, they will be great.

10. Earrings, pieces, € 3,95: Due to my love for triangles and spotting these triangular earrings I could not resist on buying and taking them home. I already wore them out ones and I don’t think I’m pleased, it is not that I think it doesn’t look good, it just feels wrong wearing them, like I’m someone else. They are too big for my taste I discovered when I put them in my ears.

Primark Haul

Last Sunday I went to Almere to shop at the Primark, to a few bits to keep me warm this winter and I thought why not share what I got on my blog. So here I go.
I will start with the rather boring pieces.

The long-sleeved t-shirt is one of the peaces I did not got at Primark, but at H&M. there is nothing really interesting about the peaces, but I needed to layer underneath my sweaters this winter. € 9,95.

The hat I also got at the H&M. € 14,95.

The tights (3 pack) € 4,00.

Winnie the Pooh socks, just because I could not leave them there. € 3,50.

The cosy red Christmassy socks to keep me warm at cold winters days and to go with my hot chocolate. € 4,00.

Now to the actual clothes.

The creamy sweater. I was looking for one for quite some time now, I just really needed one to finish a couple of outfits. I am not sure but I believe this sweater was around € 12,00.

The awesome red tartan shorts. Also not sure about the prize, but I think it was € 8,00.

The shirt with the green leopard print, just because I could. € 13,00.

The smiley skirt. This one just drew my attention as it is so me. Another one I’m not sure about the prize. I think it was € 8,00.

To get in the Christmas spirit my mom bought these Christmas tree earrings. € 1,50.

Haul

In the past few weeks I’ve bought some clothing items. Non of them were planned, they kinda just happened as I was walking past some stores and looking on the internet. But I got two items that I needed for the winter.

The Jumper with eye motif, asos. I just really loved this sweater and I could not leave this behind.

The high waist dark blue skinny jeans, also asos. This one of the items I needed for the winter, because I did not have any jeans that were comfortable and this one is. I can wear it the whole day and still feel comfortable and that is something I find hart when I wear a jeans.

The bright red blouse, Zara. This is not a piece I essentially need, but I was looking for something like this for quite some time and am very happy that I found it.

The hat, Zara. I have a hat addiction, when I see one I just need to have it and this one is just an other one. Even though I haven’t wore it jet, I know that one day I will.

The boots, Tamaris. I really needed a pair of good shoes for the winter, the only ones I had were not waterproof (making my feed wet with the littlest rain). These ones are made of real leather and are the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on my feed. They were a little bit more expensive then I normally spend on my shoes, but they are worth every bit of the money.

Get out of your comfort zone!!! that's where life is

Hello everyone, did you all had a nice week?

This post is for those of you that are like me. Someone who wears the same outfit (or identically ones) every single day and want to change that. I think the key to be confident is to feel good and beautiful in your skin, and sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone to get to that feeling.

My boring outfit, consist of a black simple bodycon dress with a sweater over that or a skirt with a similar silhouette to create two identical outfits. Why?? Because I blend in with everyone else. I’m a very shy person and I’m not feeling confident being in the spotlight, I get very nervous. But It’s time to get out of my comfort zone.

If you want to change your boring everyday outfit, don’t go overboard with it and change the whole outfit at a time. It can be to big of a change for you and you want to go running home and change. Take baby steps.

Tip 1: Instead to change your outfit at a time, change bit’s of it. For example; when your everyday outfit consist of a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, change the basic pair of jeans for one with a print (dots, flowers….) or change the basic shirt for one with lace details or a fun print.

I’m going to change my simple black skirt for one with a similar silhouette, only this skirt is lace and green.

Tip 2: A statement piece of jewellery. It instantly makes your outfit more interesting.

Tip 3: Change your hair, I don’t mean to chop it all of (unless you feel like it). Just put your hair in a ponytail, braid, bun or ad a headpiece. Go for inspiration on the internet/ magazine. When you change your hair, it gives you a fresh look.

Tip 4: Last but not least. Change your makeup. Wear some lipstick for a change, try a Smokey eye or a winked eyeliner.

And when you feel confident with your first step, then take the next.

Hope it is of any help.

PS. It is always a good idea to get out of your comfort zone and start living!!!!

ASOS Swing Dress in Lace & Velvet

It finally arrived!!! I’ve ordered a dress from asos lace & velvet dress and it came this weekend.

I was so exited when it arrived. I unpacked the dress and wow!! The colour was even better then it shows on the site. I already had fallen in love when I saw the picture on the site, but the colour is even better in reality. I love the sheer lace yoke, the sweetheart bodice and the lovely shape the dress has. Do not forget the cut outs in the back.

I’ve been looking for a red dress for a couple of years now and now I found this one the search is over..

The best thing about this dress is that it is so comfortable and still is cute and
feminine. I think it is comfortable because the shape isn’t tight fitted. I swear I could dance in this dress the whole night, without feeling choked.

The reason I’m not wearing the dress on the picture is because I want to keep it as new as possible for Christmas. It will be my Christmas dress. But I will be wearing it when I do my Christmas look book. It will be one of the many looks.
